Teaching grammar and vocabulary to a student with SLDs, especially with dyslexia, is particularly demanding. I find the ideas and methods suggested in Task 2 very interesting. Of course not all of them can be applied in every case. I am currently working in a school with no internet connection in the classrooms, where most other teachers do not use modern technology in their lessons and most students were not even familiar with the term "project" at the beginning of the year. Taking these facts into consideration,as well as the age of my students (6-12) I believe the following methods are the most applicable:
)mindmaps for teaching both vocabulary and grammar. The teacher can prepare them for younger learners and older students can be trained to make them on their own
)Memory games with wordcards, where both words and pictures can be used so that learning becomes more fun and easier through the use of visual connections to auditory input. These cards can be used at the presentation as well as the practise stage. For older students who study IT at school wordcards in a digital format can also be used.
)I also think songs are very useful tools because younger students in particular really enjoy them, they are fun, easy to learn and easy to use in the classroom
)Finally making crazy stories, according to the student I interviewed, is a great way to remember difficult vocabulary
